Three miles north of Lanes Redwood Flat. This Giant Tree is estimated to have burned out 300 years ago, leaving four natural openings at the base, hence was first called Quadruped tree. Later a Fraternal order was organized inside the tree and the name "Fraternal Monarch" was used. In 1933 Robert Ripley featured it as the "tallest one room house in the world" so it is now known as the "World Famous Tree House."
